Can't enable Norton 360 Firewall

Hello, I am having a problem with my Norton 360 Firewall.  In the Windows "Action Center", it shows that I don't have a Firewall enabled. When I click to use Norton it doesn't do anything. The Windows firewall doesn't work either. I had this problem once before and used the Norton Removal Tool to reinstall, but I've tried this twice and neither worked. I talked to a Norton Agent on the phone today and they told me to use the "Run" command and enter:

regsvr32 /u WMIUTILS.DLL and

regsvr32 WMIUTILS.DLL

and this worked for a few minutes, but I now have the same problem in my "Action Center". Does anyone know how I can get my Norton 360 firewall back up and get rid of this error message? Thanks

Hi, Mike9876. Welcome to the forums. As you've used the removal tool to uninstall and reinstall, it's possible some files may have been corrupted during the process.

You may wish to use the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool instead, which will replace your current install with a fresh one.

The link is here.  http://www.norton.com/nrnr

Then you can check that the firewall is working correctly.

If so, it will tell you in the Action Center, that Norton is managing the firewall.

Hi again, I used the remove and reinstall program and it worked. The action center shows that Norton 360 firewall is working and there are no problems. Thank you for your reply!

Hi, Mike. Glad we could help. Hope everything is still behaving !
