Recently, i updated my HTC Sensation from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 and i had a factory reset for my phone. But when i tried to download the app, i couldn't find it anywhere in the market. I had the app downloaded and installed before the update but i don't know why i can't even find the app again in the market. Is the app not compatible with 2.3.4?
Hi... Thanks for the quick reply. I'm from Singapore. Also to tell you that i previously installed the beta and upgraded to lite. Only after upgrading to 2.3.4 that i'm unable to find the app in the market.

Hi, rndm360,
Odd as it may seem, the beta and Lite are really the same product (that is, Lite is the same product now that it’s out of Beta). So what Andmike is saying is that it looks as though the paid product just isn’t available yet in Singapore. I had the same symptom in the U.S. overnight the day they brought the product out of Beta: I was able to “upgrade” from the beta version to Lite, but could not purchase the license for the full version until the following morning. Based on this experience, I suspect that means they’re setting up the infrastructure and/or legal requirements and you will soon be able to complete your purchase. Unless we hear from Erik or another Symantec employee with something more specific, I’d suggest you keep checking Market (or click the upgrade button at the bottom of Lite) every few days until you’re able to buy your subscription. It’s worth it!
Note: the other thing I’ve seen cause this symptom is lack of availability of the product on particular hardware. For example, when I first got my Xoom (tablet), I was unable to see THE BETA in Market–even though I’d been running it for MONTHS on my smartphone–because it hadn’t been released for tablets yet. I don’t think that’s what you’re experiencing, though, or you wouldn’t have been able to see the beta or Lite there either.
Thanks for the update rndm360,
Two things.
The latest list I have seen for the countries in which NMS Lite is available (jon_p_11's posting of 19 August in this forum) did not include Singapore. So this could possibly explain why you cannot find it. Though I don't understand how you would have been able to install NMS Lite in these circumstances.
The version number you quote of 2.3.4 does not seem to fit with the current product number on the market which I believe is 2.2.0.307. Where did you get this from?
@Andmike,
I think 2.3.4 is the Android (OS) build on rndm360’s HTC Sensation.

Thanks DistEd2.
Mike,
I believe the 2.3.4 he's mentioning is the device firmware and not the version of NMS.
So, the reason why it's not showing up now has to do with the reset. The Beta was previously allowed in a larger set of countries than Lite is set to be available in. The Android Market has an issue that if you remove availability in a country, the Market will still show updates to anyone who has had the app installed. After performing the reset, you no longer had the app installed so the Market will then use the current country availability settings.
Had you purchased NMS or did you only have the Lite version installed?
Hello again About the availability of the NMS, well i can still wait for it until i can find it in the market. But it’s kinda weird because i could install it previously but not after i updated my phone. Perhaps its the phone software or something. Yes DistEd2 is right. Version number 2.3.4 is refering to my phone Android OS which i recently updated to. Sorry Andmike about that Thanks everyone for your help!
Ahh–as usual, Erik’s post is enlightening: the Lite version has a more restricted country list than the beta did, but Norton graciously doesn’t cut its PRE-EXISTING CUSTOMERS off when they impose a tighter eligibility like that. So had rndm360 NOT needed to do the factory reset, eligibility for new updates would have continued.
And it sounds like Erik is trying to find a way to get you your product back BASED ON that previous eligibility, at least if you’d bought the subscription already. That could be really important if in fact the non-availability in Singapore is actually due to new restrictions, and not just a temporary thing.
@rndm360 Singapore now on the list where you can purchase NMS direct from Market!
