NOTE: I found other closed threads on this problem, but they didn't offer a solution that worked for me so I'm curious if anyone has an idea. Two of the prior threads on this are here and here.
As of today, NAV is warning me that Advanced Firewall is "At Risk." The Norton Protection Center icon in the system tray has a red X on it. I can't fix it.
Apparently this has to do with a problem with a non-Norton Firewall. The only Firewall I use is ZoneAlarm Pro (not Windows), and it's working properly. However, this problem began right after I did a ZA update. I've been running both NAV and ZA for many years, never had this problem crop up before.
In the prior threads on this problem, 2 people seemed to solve it by disconnecting from the internet, shutting down ZA, waiting a bit, then restarting it. I've tried that, as well as rebooting the computer. No luck.
I'll check with ZoneAlarm too, but the error's only showing up in NAV. Any suggestions?
