Must first tell you that I participated in beta testing. Tried to install the GA version of Safety Minder, but it keeps presenting screen that says 'collecting error logs'. It then asks if I want to send logs to Norton, which I do, then only option is to close install application. Beta version of SM appears to be uninstalled already, but it was not manually uninstalled. May have uninstalled when I first attempted to install GA version.
Using Windows Vista Home Premium.

I also have N360, which is the only Norton product listed in uninstall.

What was the exact date that you saw this installation failure? Would you be willing to provide me with your machine's computer name?
I just sent you a Private Message. You should be able to see the PM icon, a envelope image on the up-right hand corner of the screen when you logged into the forum.

I think I am having the same problem. I can not complete the installation of Norton Safety Minder, It goes to a screen that say in the install that I am "collecting Error logs" and later "The installation has encounterd an error and is unable to continue" and "Uploading error report to Symantec"
I have try redownloading the execuatable without success. I have rebooted the system multiple times, made sure I was the only windows user
I am running a recently rebuild Windows XP system with Norton 360 v3; Windows and 360 are up-to-date.
more information... it tries to run the install everytime I login. It try to install and fails with the error from my first posting. Then it shows in the "add and remove programs"; I run the uninstall and it fails with a "collecting error logs", but DOES removes the entry in "add and remove programs"
Please tell me how I can make this go away....
Mine doesn't try to run the install every time I login, so I'm not sure if it's the exact same problem. However, I've had some PM conversations with Symantec staff, and I can tell you that the developers are working on the install issue.
