Can't login to norton account

Tried to login into my Norton Account via the Norton panel and via the link https://www.mynortonaccount.com/ and I receive the following message.

"The server is not available at this time. Please try again later. If this problem persists please contact technical support."

Received the same message last week when I tried and I've tried on and off for over an hour just now and still not working????

Any ideas?

Can I ask were are your from? Or do you use any proxy settings?

And what browser and version do you use to login?

By me (Hungary) it works as it should.

EDIT: In Opera 10.51 and in IE8 it works as well.

Hi Richard,

Welcome to the forum. As I understand you tried just minutes ago? I just tried myself and see no problems.

Are you having problems with anything else besides this?

What anti-virus software are you running and version number from Help > About? What is your OS and 32 or 64 bit? What browser are you using?

Thanks

Allen

This is interesting. When I said that it wasn't working for me in Opera, that isn't entirely accurate. If I type in the password each time I want to access the site it works as it should in Opera. If I use Opera's Password Manager, I get the error message that the OP sees. It always seems to work with IE 8.

While checking for the things you asked about I found what is causing my problem.

I use RoboForm to login and it did not work using that but when I physically typed in my login information it worked fine. Tried it a couple of times both ways and RoboForm is not working to login to Norton. RoboForm does work for other apps though.

Thanks for all the replies.

By the way I'm using Norton Internet version 16.8.0.41, Firefox 3.6.3 and IE 8.0, Windows XP 32 bit

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the update and I'm glad this is working for you now.

I know this is not the issue you posted about but I noticed that you are running NIS 2009. If your subscription is current, you are entitled to a free update to NIS 2010 and I would highly recommend doing this.

You can visit the update center as indicated below to get your free upgrade. You can also (as a precaution) note down your product (license) key from your Norton Account. If you use ID safe you can back it up first by following the procedure at this link.

The above is only a precaution as most times updating from NIS 2009 to 2010 does not present any problems.

The full link to the Norton update center is:

http://updatecenter.norton.com/

If there are any problems with the update center, you can get the full version of NIS 2010 from:

http://www.symantec.com/redirects/norton/norton_co m/nis10/

This can then be installed over the top of NIS 2009.

After upgrading to NIS 2010 make sure you run Live Update repeatedly until there are no more updates.

Thanks

Allen

Allen,

Thanks very much for the info on upgrading, I'll be sure to do that. :smileyhappy:
