Can't print to Brother MFC-7840 without disabling Symantec Firewall

Help!  I can't print to my Brother MFC-7840 unless I disable my Symantec firewall.  Is there any way to adjust the settings for the firewall so that it know that it's okay to print to the printer?

Thanks!

What version of Symantec are you using? What OS are you working on?

Is it a wireless printer? Or a USB all in one?

Thank for answering!  I am using Symantec Client Firewall v. 8.6.0.134.  I am prinitng wirelessly.

I'm using Windows XP.

shelterhelper,

I haven't used that firewall before. does it have logs? if so, what does it say it has blocked in the logs at the time of you attempting to print?

Did you try contacting Brother support? They know how to configure the settings in the Windows firewall to enable printing, so maybe they know how to configure the Symantec firewall

Hello shelterhelper,

The product you are using is a Symantec Corporate Edition.

Your question would be better addressed on the Symantec Connect corporate forums located here.

Most of us on these boards are familiar with the consumer products. There is a quite a difference between the two product lines.

Best Wishes.
