I’m having a devil of a time with Norton Ghost. About two weeks ago, I attempted to do a backup but Ghost (vers 10) wouldn’t execute. I tried re-installing it to no avail – I couldn’t remove the unresponsive copy. I purchased Ghost 15. G15 tried to update G10 but gets bogged down about halfway. Now when I attempt to remove using any method I am asked for the G15 disk. The Windows removal boggs down at about halfway. The Norton Removal tool 2012.0.0.19 boggs down about halfway. Can someone give me a suggestion or do I have to remove every registry key that shows Norton Ghost (or will that work)?
As a last resort, I tried to install G15 one more time and got the following msg: “Install has detected a newer version of this technology. To install Norton Ghost, Norton Ghost 15.0.1.36526 must first be removed through Add/Remove Programs.” This is impossible, since after running the removal tool, Ghost doesn’t show up in Add/Remove. Help!
