I've tried every solution under mictosoft help to allow me to rename folders in win10 10.0.19045. Most say settings need to be changed in windows defender. Some blame my anti-virus, aka, Norton 360. Could 360 be the culprit? I'll get an dialog saying the named file/folder cannot be found even tho' explorer is plainly showing it. Any suggestions?
PS- I still think it's a shame the bean counters took control from the users and made Norton Utilities a subscription product. I had been using it since NU v5.
The goofs at mictosoft claimed it was the antivirus. I used the New Folder option in file explorer. When I tired to name it, the error popped up. It used to be only when I wanted to rename folders on my NAS, now it's every time.
I can't see what feature of Norton 360 that could cause this issue.
It does look like a Windows issue. Are you using a Windows admin account when trying to rename the folder? Your image shows it is a newly created folder. Did you create it recently? Have you tried deleting it and starting again?
