Cant renew existing subscription using retail key

I bought a  Norton 360 1 device renewal card from a retailer

Open my EXISTING installation of Norton and select RENEW.

That was half an hour and after all sorts of running around and pages to her and pages to there and PAGES to NOWHERE.

Well here I am for the first time ever.

You know who I am and you know all my "account details" and the retailer has already taken my money.
