Can't restore files

I just started a trial backup account. I performed a backup and that went fine. So as part of my testing I wanted to try to restore the files to make sure that worked without any issues. To my surprise the process seemed very simple. I tried doing a single file download as well as a full folder restore. Both scenarios resulted in the following vague error message in the header portion of the browser:

"Failed to restore"

So, I examined the View Log and it stated an equally unhelpful message:

"Restore failed (no error code)"

No matter what I do, the files will not restore. I have read the sticky at the top of this forum about making the backup job a manual job. I've also adjusted the power setting, which shouldn't matter since the restore of a single file should be long since complete before the computer goes into standby or sleep.

I backed up my files to norton from this computer and now when i need to restore files to this computer norton back up says this computer is off line. How do I rectify this situation?
