I have been liking NIS2009 until yesterday when I started having a problem with LiveUpdates where I get an "error connecting to server" message (and pulse updates aren't working either). It was working fine prior to that. My version is 16.1.0.33 and its an XP SP3 machine. When the update fails I can't check for a specific error message because if I click on the More Info link, NIS freezes up completely. I've tried deleting the ncodefs file, but it still didn't work and I've made sure that my network connection is set to obtain DNS automatically. I have no other security software installed. I'm not sure when I was updated to 16.1.0.33, but I'm wondering if my problem may be related to this update. Is there anything else I can do, short of uninstalling and re-installing? I'm in the middle of the 15-day free trial and if I'm going to have issues where I need to keep uninstalling the program, I'm afraid I'll have to find a different security suite.
