Can't run Quick Scan or Full Scan

I don't know what happened today but I cannot run Quick or Full System scan.  Everything else works fine (allegedly).  I tried LiveUpdate and Support scans tell me nothing is wrong with 360.  I'm running Windows 8.  My version of Norton 360 is v20.2.0.19.

Any thoughts?

I've run Power Eraser which says ther are no problems.  I've tried the Remove and Reinstall and it tells me there is an error and it can't reinstall.

If the Remove & Reinstall Tool didn't work it sounds like you need to download a fresh copy of N360 from www.norton.com/n360s_20 for the Standard Edition or from www.norton.com/n360p_20 for the Premium Edition and save it.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from www.norton.com/nrt and reboot.

Install your new copy of N360.  Remember to run Live Update, restarting where required, until no more updates are available.

Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Dave

I was able to remove 360 but now I cannot reinstall even with the new link you posted

Can you confirm that you have no other antivirus or antimalware products installed?

What error message have you received when you try to install?

Can you take a screenshot?  Instructions to post screenshots can be found here.

You may be able to sign in to your Norton Account and download a copy from there.

Dave

there definitely is not other antispyware/malware/virus software on the computer

I've redownloaded 360 from my Norton Account as suggested.  I click on the Agree and Install button but nothing happens after that.  I'm going to bed now and hope it installs while i'm asleep.  this is very frustrating

360 did install while I was asleep.  As of now, it is running and up to date.  I'm performing a full system scan now.  Thanks for your efforts

That's good news.  I hope it keeps running for you.  After reading more posts it appears others are having problems running scans with the 2013 versions on Windows 8, so if it happens again you might be better off downgrading to N360v6 until this bug is sorted.  We can give you steps for this if needed.

Thanks for letting us know.

Cheers,

Dave
