Can't see/read Norton email coming from Notification

Hello! Yesterday afternoon I noticed a blue '1' on my NORTON 360 systray icon (Email_Notify_1).  This indicated that I had an unread message (Email_Notify_2). Choosing that option, I get another window for Message Center, but no message appears (Email_Notify_3).  Opening NORTON 360 itself, I get the notify at the top (Email_Notify_4) and clicking that results in the same 'blank' Message Center window. Running Live Update hasn't made an impact. This is the very first time I have received an email notification in this manner via 360 itself.  I do get regular emails from Norton thru my normal email account.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Other than that recent behavior, NORTON 360 has been running fine - no other issues.

I am running Windows 7 Professional/SP1 fully updated along with NORTON 360 vers 22.21.10.40 fully updated.

Best - Ted

Hi All,

Mine seems ok now.Message indicator gone after I read the message, so seems ok. Thanks. I am still not keen on the message overlay on the green tick though, but it's working which is the most important thing.

Hello Gayathri,

You are welcome.  I have run LiveUpdate since your post and rebooted.  To know for sure if this helps/resolves, can NORTON send a 'test' message to my account?  Then the icon in systray would signal to me that an email message is present and I would attempt to bring up and read in normal fashion to prove with certainty.  Then I would report back here.

Ted

Thank you for reporting this issue. We have released a Hotfix targeting 22.21.10.40 to fix this issue. Please run LiveUpdate to get the Hotfix, and reboot the system to resolve the error. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Mine has cleared now, literally as I was looking at it (no other intervention except liveupdates). It looks like it is a 6 or 7 day wait and it clears. No messages in inbox and the geen tick is back. It would be nice to have an explanation/resolution though otherwise this will probably happen with the next "non" message. Thanks.

Mine also cleared yesterday all on its own, no more blue new message notification?

I'm waiting to see if it comes back but so far so good.

Just an update, the blue '1' on my NORTON 360 systray icon is now gone as of this evening - replaced with the green checkmark.  I didn't change one thing except for only running 'Live Update' at various intervals like I always do.  I don't even believe it was a whole week that the 'unread message (1)' was present.  Was thinking about doing a 'cold boot', but why should I have to do things different than I normally do (I just put PC in sleep mode overnight).   I work all from home, so don't desire to do anything different to 'upset' balance of things (unless it was a super-critical item). Thanks to all that posted here. Wonder if it will come back once more down the road...

I finally decided to try and access Message Center from the Norton 360 app on my iPhone 8.  It's a bit of a clunky slog to get there using the phone, but at the end of the day it said There Are No Messages.  But on the computer this morning, there it is in the tray, the Norton icon with the little green circle on it that says "1 unread message" when I hover over it.  And double clicking down the rabbit hole on my computer still produces a blank Message screen.
I'm done!angry

It resolved for me today too, with no intervention on my part.

It appears the problem associated with this thread has been resolved for me. I no longer see that I have a message in the Norton taskbar that I could not respond to when clicking to see. Thanks for getting this fixed for me. I cannot speak for other people, but I hope this has resolved their situation too.

I have the same problem as other Windows 7 people are reporting. I cannot see any message when I go to the message center.

Everybody, I'm another Win7 user who's having this problem too.  I even tried modifying the Exceptions in my Firefox pop-up blocking setup to include "my.norton.com."  This didn't help either.  Without being too conspiratorial about it, I now believe this is Norton's way of saying "if you're using WIN7, please go away and stop bothering us."  I just wish Norton would be upfront and honest about it.

newrozz, it's not useless information. Mine hasn't disappeared either.

Hello, first post,

I did not want to clutter up the post with useless information, but I have Windows 7 Home Premium, V6.1, SP1 and have the same problem since 11th Nov. I still have the message icon on the systray, it has not disappeared yet. I have not done anything except (several) reboots, live updates, and log in to my Norton account to read messages which aren't there. Also, I have several friends who are running Windows 7 and they all have the same problem, 9 people  in all. As someone else has said, overlaying the Tick icon with a message icon was a bad move. Thanks.

Apostolos:

Yes it came back by itself, I did nothing. Strange.
But as you can see from previous screenshots, the "Unread messages (0)" option is now gone from N360 right click systray icon, I do not know why.
Any ideas??

No....by my seldom "Message Center" envelope ...  W10 Home
I refreshed my Norton install to get rid of envelope and Unread Messages (0).
Next time.  I'll wait to see whats what.
Thanks

Hi bjm_

Apostolos:

Some people here do not seem to get the point, sorry bjm_ , no offence.
The point is that the stupid Norton messages, should display, and that way any user can delete and having back the Norton green systray icon.

Do you have back the Norton green systray icon, now?

Last OT post here, but Dark Reader is available for Chromium based browsers too.

I understand what you mean about your eyes.  Mine have always been sensitive to bright light and I actually find it easier to read white font on a dark background, but to each their own.

Best wishes my friend.  Take care!

Dave

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately, I do not have Firefox installed.

Also, when I use Edge in dark mode, I have difficulties reading some parts of the pages, especially small letters.

Maybe it's time to see a doctor for my eyes, it's the sad truth.

Good to hear from you anyway. smiley

Best wishes,

Hi Apostolos,

Wow!  I got a bit of a shock seeing the white forum posts.  I'm not used to seeing the forum that way anymore.  wink
