Can't uninstall, although already installed?

So I turn on my computer and this notorious viru- I mean programme is installed.

Oh, look, it's this horrible programme that does more worse than good.

Firstly, what gives you the right to install it without my permission? Trust me, I didn't choose to install this malware.

Secondly, when I go to uninstall it, it says that it's incompatiable with my version of windows.

What kind of retarded programme installs itself without authorisation, but will not uninstall because it's not compatible?

Sorry to be rude, but this has really gotten me angry. Will someone please instruct me on how to uninstall this brick of a programme?

"Norton Security Scan"

I go into settings, then I click "Uninstall Norton Security Scan" then "Yes" I then get prompted yet again if I really want to uninstall, I click "Uninstall".

Then the first error is:

Unsupported 16-Bit Application

The program of feature "\??\C:\Program Files (x86)\NortonInstaller\{397E31AA-0D78-4649-A01C-339D73A2ED35}\NSS\LicenseType\3.7.2.5\InstStub.exe" canno start of run due to incompatibity with 64-bit ersions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.

That's the first error.

I click okay and yet another one pops up:

C:\Program Files (x86)\NortonInstaller\{397E31AA-0D78-4649-A01C-339D73A2ED35}\NSS...

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check you computer's system informaton to see whether you need and x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

Again, sorry for being rude. This just frustrates me when this happens.

Hi,

Is it listed in Programs & Features (or Add or Remove programs) ?  Can you uninstall it from there?

Thanks,  Dave.

No I'm not unfortunately, it just opens up Norton again asking if I want to uninstall and gives me the first error again.

"Scan complete

No risks found"

Well.

I had previously downloaded and used that one too. If something is supposed to happen, it's not. I launch it and nothing happens.

Then when I reset my computer, there's no change at all.

Hi ,

If you have  already tried  the uninstallation tool , please try the below steps.

Try to reinstall the security scan again as while you install it it detects for any previous installations and then removes it and restarts  the PC.

So once it is removed you can close the installation so that the program will be removed.

Here is the link to download .
