The following error comes up when I try to update VS 2022. I have admin rights on my PC, but it seems the installer requires elevated permissions. I have added the Visual Studio installer to the excluded applications, and under Settings ā App permissions I have added the installer and removed the Blocking options. I still get the problem.
Does anyone know how I stop Norton 360 from checking/blocking? Below is the full message:
Error Code -2146233079: Access is denied
FIX: This issue usually happens because of anti-virus software restricting the ability to create processes with elevated permissions. Please review your anti-virus policies and ensure the Visual Studio installer is allowed permissions to elevate needed processes.
What version of Norton are you using, 24.xx / 25.xx or an older version? Anything in Norton history you can share that says Norton is blocking it? Have you disabled the firewall and retested?

Thanks for your help, but none of the suggestions worked. Rather than updating my Visual Studio, I just uninstalled it and reinstalled the latest version.
In retrospect, I should have done that to begin with.
