I have never seen this message before and want to ask before doing an installation. Norton identifies the site is safe but then I get a caution message about doing the actual download.
How would i know what Norton is referring to in regards to the danger in downloading this to my computer?
Thank you for this information. So then do I understand the messages for downloads that show up in these banners at the bottom of the screen are from IE9? Is it possible that this warning is telling me the software could have a conflict with my hardware or other software? I don't remember every seeing this caution before.

Yes

Actually whenever you download a file ending in .exe IE will pop up this warning - it is not intended as a conflict warning but as a possible malicious download. As I said before, as long as Norton say it's safe you can ignore the warning. To expound a bit, the warning does not say the fileis dangerous - it says this type (.exe) could be dangerous. All .exe files are not dangerous - so it is a general warning.
It is Microsoft's way of telling users to pause and consider what they are about to download - have you made sure that the program is reputable and safe?
