I've been using Netlimiter 2 to monitor my actual available bandwidth on my "up to 8Mbit" line to find my true average.
Given my distance from the exchange I expected around 2 Mbit which is pretty much what I had recieved with previous ISP packages.
I notice that ccproxy.exe has a 1 to 1 bandwidth use to any given download I'm performing, If I'm downloading from Microsoft I can get 400 Kbits/s which is great then I notice ccproxy.exe is also taking 400 Kbits/s so my net line usage is 800 Kbit/s.
I googled what ccproxy.exe was and it seems it pertains to the parental lock controls for content - I have the Parental control option switched off.
If I find a source that can serve a 2 Mbit download I will only ever be able to make use of 1 Mbit as ccproxy has eaten the rest.
Can ccproxy's behaviour be curbed?
