ccSvcHst.exe accessing data over internet : high data usage

I have installed a program that is monitoring the data usage of certain applications. I have found that the ccSvcHst.exe is using and accessing more data than MS Outlook over the internet and is chewing up bandwidth. It is accessing a variety of sites on a regular basis.

 

Can anybody assist why this is so ?

Why does ccSvcHst  need to access the internet continuously?

 

I find it strange and I am worried that it may be a virus.
