Hi fritzmom:
If you can, first back up your logins to the desktop so that you can restore them later. Download the Norton Removal Tool, and the latest version of N360. Remove Norton via add/remove first, then run the removal tool. Then reinstall. You will still need to run liveupdate until all updates are in and then reboot.
Warning:
The removal tool will also remove Ghost. I don't have a direct link for Ghost. Do you have a disc or download to reinstall?

Hi
This is from my hubby's computer as my computer is very sick.
I tried to uninstall Norton 360 from Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs but at 85% uninstalling, the computer went to a horrible blue screen and told me that a serious error was dedected and Windows was shut down to protect my computer.
I rebooted, logged in - saw no icon for Norton 360. Went to www.symantec.com/symnrt to download the NRT. According to the screen, I tried to download BUdump.exe first, but then my PC did the 'blue screen' thing again. After that I could not log in, in Normal mode. So now I'm running CHKDSK C:/R from Safe Mode.
If I can log in to my PC to download the NRT, do I need to run BUdump.exe first? IF I can download it that is. Or should I be doing something else first?
I haven't been on the computer for the last few days, it's been turned off. At this moment I don't know if my hard drive is broken beyond repair, but I need it back.
Any more help/advice will be appreciated immensely.
Thanks
Barb

How do you fix it?
Welcome,
How did you remove NAV? If you didn't then the process is as follows
download and run the Norton Removal Tool
reboot
reinstall 360
reboot
run live update until the program tells you that all of the updates have been downloaded and installed
Keep us posted
Hi there, this seemed to do the trick. Your added instructions weren't on the box. Thank you.
