CCSVCHST Problem on Shutdown

I had a problem with an IE search results hijacker that nothing seemed to be able to find, or fix.  So in an "if all else fails, try it" approach, I did a system restore back to a date prior to the problem.  That fixed the problem with IE.  However, I then got errors with Norton Antivirus.  This is on a Windows XP SP3 system that had been running Norton Antivirus 2012 without any problems.  In trying to resolve the issue with NAV, I was taken to a support web site that advised after assessing the problem, that I needed to download the Remove and Reinstall program to resolve the issue.  I did that, and it went through the process, BUT instead of reinstalling NAV 2012, it downloaded and installed NAV 2013.  However, everything seemed to be working OK, so I thought I would just leave well enough alone.

Now for the problem.  About half the time, when I go to shut down the system, the shutdown hangs with a notice that ccSvcHst is trying to shutdown, then eventually, that it is not responding.  If I click EITHER the END NOW button, OR the CANCEL button at that point, the system goes ahead and shuts down, but (about half the time) with another error message that appears very briefly (to briefly to copy down, but it says there was an exception error, or word to that effect.)

In browsing other posts here, I have seen suggestions to revert to NAV 2012 if we are having problems with NAV 2013 until the problems are fixed.  But I haven't seen any instructions on exactly how to do that.  Can someone point me to instructions as to how to uninstall NAV 2013 and reinstall NAV 2012?
