I'm having a problem similar to the one described in the original post, so I'm answering the questions already posed to thomasv12:
What is your operating system and service pack level? Are you installing from a disk or a download?
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600
Download.
Did you have any other security installed before NIS 2010 and how was it uninstalled?
November 5, 2009 upgraded NIS2009/Systemworks to NIS2010/Norton Utilities
Successfully accomplished upgrade after the usual "automatic upgrades", use of the Norton Removal Tools for NIS2009/Systemworks and NIS2010/Norton Utilities (I can remember having to reinstall Systemworks so I could uninstall it again) and other rigamorole.
and last but not least, are there any other security products installed?
No.
Up until the last two weeks everything has been functioning well on my system until the following window began popping up on my screen accompanied with the following information:
NIS 17.5.0.127
szAppName:ccsvchst.exe
szAppVer:109.0.2.14
szModName:ncw.dll
szModVer:17.5.0.127
offset:00049b56
I've also provided screen shots of my Norton products' About screens.
. . . or not since my bmp and jpg files were rejected.
