I purchased Norton Internet Security 2011 and was installing it. It found an expired Norton and said it was removing it. A few minutes later a pop-up said installation could not be completed. Error message Code 39, which is "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing". Now my CD/DVD player is not working at all. It doesn't even show up on 'My Computer'. I went to Device Manager and it says it has the latest updates This same thing happened to my daughter after she bought a new laptop this summer. She took hers back to the computer store and when she told them her CD drive wasn't working, the technician said, "Dont tell me, you were trying to install Norton's". Hers was Windows 7, my laptop is Vista. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I can't afford to take it to the shop. PLEASE!!??!!
