Change an alert response in Financial Monitoring

I have inadvertently marked an ALERT that was received in Financial Monitoring incorrectly. The transaction that was in question was in fact something that was done by me but in the process of reviewing the issue on my iPhone, my thumb inadvertently hit the NO and reflected it as “transaction that was not performed by” me.
My question is… is there any way for me to go back in and change this to YES (it was performed by me)?

I feel that the user should have an opportunity to correct a mistake such as this. Please advise.

Thank you,

Don

@DEBFlorida Some of this information may help. Start with the AI information first:

AI Overview

To reverse a financial alert response in Norton 360, sign in to your My Norton Dashboard and navigate to the Alerts tab. Click on the Disputed or Archived tab, select the specific transaction, and follow the on-screen prompts to update its status or contact your bank if required. [1, 2, 3]

Detailed Steps to Update Alert Status

If you previously marked an alert incorrectly, you can manage and review its status using the Norton Account Portal:
**> **
> 1. Sign In: Go to My Norton Portal and log in to your account.
> 2. Locate Alerts: Click on the Alerts tab to view your notification history.
> 3. Find the Transaction: Use the Archived tab (for alerts you confirmed) or the Disputed tab (for alerts you did not initiate).
> 4. Change Response: Locate the transaction in question and adjust the status. If you mistakenly flagged a valid transaction as unauthorized, you can validate the activity by verifying it. [1, 2]

Managing Financial Monitoring Accounts

If you need to edit or remove the bank account entirely, or fix an erroneous alert caused by duplicate account data:

  1. Navigate to the Monitored Info tab or the Manage Account tab, depending on your subscription view.
  2. Scroll down to Financial Accounts.
  3. Click the settings to remove duplicate entries, update login credentials, or remove the financial institution

Thank you for your prompt response.
I followed the instructions as you laid them out by going to Alerts\Archive and clicking on the Transaction that I erroneously marked NO but I am unable to see anywhere on this form/document where it is possible to “adjust the status”. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise, I would suggest that Norton be notified that there is a potential modification that can be made to allow transactions that had been erroneously flagged by the user to be corrected. In my case, it was truly a slip of the thumb onto the wrong button. Even after it happened, I wasn’t sure which button was pushed until I went back into Alerts to see what actually happened,

Thanks for your time and assistance.

@DEBFlorida Hello again. Just following up to see what your status is with this issue.

I’ve followed the instructions that you provided. However, once I got to the transaction in question within the Archived tab, there was no way for me to “change” the original response I had recorded in error.

Be sure you have disabled any VPN and any ad blocking browser extension while trying to make the changes.

Not sure how else to phrase this so I apologize in advance if I’m just repeating myself. However, once I get to the transaction in question in the Archive area, there is no way for me to “change” the original response. The only option provided for the user to make a change to is for me to “Update your transaction thresholds”. Updating the threshold is NOT what I was trying to accomplish.
In other words, it’s not like I’m able to try and change something but it won’t let me, it is more simple than that. There is no opportunity provided on that transaction page for me to change or correct my initial response.

@DEBFlorida Guru Peterweb was also asking if you have a VPN active while doing the changes and if there are ad blocker extension enabled within your browser. Both of which can cause issues.

SA

I checked “Network & Internet” settings and temporarily turned off any VPN that was active. I also went to google chrome settings and made sure that the “Default behavior” was set to “Any site you visit can show any ad to you”.
After making these changes, I repeated all the steps in Norton by going to the Alerts, Archive and relocating the transaction in question. There was still NO opportunity to modify or change my original response. I simply don’t think Norton provides this feature to the end user. It seems to me that once the end user makes a choice then… right or wrong… the end user is stuck with it. While the program may be working as designed, I believe providing a user the ability to make a change is something Norton should consider adding, especially when the selection made by the user was done in error (slip of the thumb).

Was there a Disputed area there as well?

SA

The only dispute I had pertained to an ALERT that I received in Financial Monitoring that was incorrectly marked as “transaction that was not performed by me”. However, the transaction was in fact performed by me but in the process of reviewing the issue on my iPhone, my thumb inadvertently hit the NO and reflected it as “transaction that was not performed by” me.

I was simply hoping there was a way to correct my error but it appears that Norton does not provide any way to do so.
