Hi,
I am using NIS 2012 ( which I upgraded earlier this month with the suggestions from the good folks from Norton Community board ! ).
I would like to change the identity Safe 'master password'.
Since I sometimes share my laptop with my friends, who access it to check e-mails or facebook scraps, I suspect that some might have noticed the master p/word while I was typing it in. Since there are lot of sites for which I have my presonal login and passwords saved, I would like to change the master password for my satisfaction and would prefer if no one else is able to sign in to those sites with my credentials.
Could someone guide me if its possible just to change the Identity Safe Master password without harming the existing data for which individual login credentials are saved in indentity safe ?
Thanks for reading and appreciate your response.

Hi Balthaz,
Welcome to the Norton Community.
I would suggest you to use the Option in the ID safe component called as ' Ask for credentials at each login'. So whenever you or someone else is using the computer, for every site that has credentials saved in Norton ID safe, it would prompt for the ID safe password.
Let me know

Hi ZettBalthaz,
Log into Identity Safe and go to Settings, which you can reach by clicking the Identity Safe button on the Norton Toolbar and choosing Options > Settings. Select Password and Security...Configure[+] and you will see a button marked Change Password.
Thanks derbomber_redux for your response.
I am aware of this option and may be I will be using this in future.
But since I feel that my existing master password for Identity Safe has already been noticed, I would like to change it too. But that should not affect my existing data as I have hundreds of site information saved. How do I do that ?
Cheers !
Hi ZetBalthaz,
We have option to change Identity safe Password,
From NIS Main UI-> Settings ->Web->Log in to Identity safe-> Click on configure link for Password and security-> There you have option to change identity Password.
It will not harm your existing identity safe data( logins credentials)
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Senthil

I was able to change the master password for Identity Safe following the simple instructions you mentioned and without affecting my existing login credentials... All are working just fine.
This is clearly one of the most responsive and helpful community on the internet ... I am glad that I have renewed my Norton subscription :)
