Regarding the issue posted here by Sea_Monster, I followed Twin7's advice and proceeded to chat in hopes of having my problem resolved. No luck, I guess...
The person I spoke to just plainly told me they are not prepared to do anything with Norton Community issues and directed me to contact the forum administrator (sic).
I do not know how to directly contact any forum administrator or moderator, so I find no other way to address my issue, other than posting it here and hoping some good Samaritan may want to help.
Simply put, I ended up with two different accounts and wanted to have them merged into one, preferably the one I have been using most. Actually, I never used the other one at all. Problem is, when I want to attach the email address I applied to the account I never used, I receive an error message stating that such email address is being used on a different account...
In different words: I want to use the email address of my inactive account with my active account. It sounds simple but seems to be more complicated than it sounds.
As I was checking into my two accounts immediately before typing my message above, that message ended up being posted under my other screen name, which I believe I had never used before...
In one way, it may help clarify the issue I posted above.
I'm sorry about the confusion but Sea Monster's query about my Norton Account was taken by those who replied as meaning the My Norton Account you set up as part of activating your Norton software -- I hope that was what he was asking!
Your query was about logging in here at the Norton Forums which is why the Chat opeerator replied that it had to be done here.
Shannons who moved your message here is one of the moderators and they will have to deal with it so far as I know .... but I' have been wrong occasionally <g>
I'll jog the moderators so that they can check with you exactly what you would like to end up with here -- we support volunteers cannot change that kind of thing.

Yes, that was what I meant. My Norton Account that activate my NIS2010. I was thinking of changing the user name (email address).....Not the user name of this forum
It looks like it is a read only thread now for some reason which I don't know.
I am LOST!!!!
My original thread was for MY NORTON ACCOUNT (ie :- change the EMAIL ADDRESS for MY NORTON ACCOUNT). Not on creation of 2 accounts with the same user name.
I could not find my original thread. CHANGE EMAIL IN MY NORTON ACCOUNT (where I first placed order for NIS).
Apparently it got merged with another thread by Lin
Okay, I just found the thread....but wonder why there was a "break" in the thread.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience I unwillingly may have caused you. It seems that all is clear now, and this is the good news.
The great news is, I must add, this forum is unlike any other I regularly visit and use. This is simply great! Consistently, I have found great help, promptly and graciously!
I just got Shannon's PM and my issue is being taken care of.
How else can I express my appreciation? Kudos to all the people who contribute to keeping this forum at this high level. And keep up the great work!

Lin Yu.....
There is no need to apologies. It is totally okay, I just need more patience to search for matters instead of jumping into. Yes, Norton Community is certainly BAR-NONE!!!!!
It was a confusing coincidence through no fault to either user, that each problem seemed so similar and yet so different. You were both very patient and gracious while getting sorted out.
