Change within the subscription (time) to a other Norton product?

I have NIS2009 and the subscription is valid for 50 days. Can I change to Norton 360 now and that during the fifty days the subscription remains valid. Or do I have to wait. I’ve already purchased Norton 360 3.0. And how do I do that.
