Device: Galaxy Core Prime - Android Version: 5.1.1 - Norton Family Premier Account.
Family Settings: All but text monitoring is turned on. Many web content categories are blocked, specifically pornography and mature content.
Problem: No matter what restrictions I put on, even turning time allotment to zero, so "everything" is blocked effectively, the google app is accessible. This app is accessed by the typical search widget on the home screen, or via any number of hotkeys that change with each device or setting. (Samsung has it come up when holding down the home key) With all apps turned off (zero time) you can still open this up and search content, read it and while some links do take you outside the app into chrome, the majority is fully viewable within the google app. This is bad because nothing is blocked inside that app. All mature content and pornography is fully accessible there.
I understand that you currently do not support widget blocking, and I'm assuming this app is opening as a widget. (if not, please correct me) The app does not show up in the list of blockable apps either. The only thing I have is to go into the app manager and disable the google app, which only mitigates the issue. It is temporary... until my child figures out how to turn it back on. The fact that I can't block accesss to settings means this is only a matter of time. Finally, I can't block access to the play store and its derivatives, which means my child can install any number of alternatives.
Solution: Give the family app the ability to block, protect and monitor widgets. This is the only real way to do this. In addition, I want the ability to block access to the play store and other system apps, including (if possible) access settings. This allows me to disable (used to be called "freeze") apps that Norton can't (yet) block and they can't be reversed without settings access.
Thank you in advance for the response and the solution.
