The procedures for using the CHKBTINI from here are not working for me. The procedures say to Extract the ChkBtIni.exe file to a DOS boot disk, however there is not enough room for the file on 3.5 inch floppy. How about creating a DOS boot CD and extracting to that? How do I create a DOS boot CD?
Thanks Phil. I had an old Sony DVD/RW that came with Nero 6 which would allow me to do this. Then I went out bought a brand new Samsung DVD/RW and my Nero 6 stopped working because Nero 6 would only work with the hardware which came with it. My new Samsung drive includes Nero 7 Express but its pretty stripped down and won't me allow to do it. To upgrade to the full version is in the $60 range which I don't feel like spending at the moment. It looks like there are some freeware/shareware solutions out there on the net but it seems like more trouble than its worth for me at the moment. Instead, I plan to create an autoexec.bat on the floppies similar to the 2 Partition Magic rescue disks to semi-automate the process.
Oh, one more thing I might add it that the procedures from the link I posted above are still wrong
You need to use a program such as ezcd creator or Nero or one of the other fine programs. Just follow the directions in the program to create the disk. You can add any files you want to the cd, and when you go to burn the disk mark it 'make disk bootable'. Follow the directions carefully and don't insert the disk until instructed.
