Chrome as startup/default browser

I have Norton 360 for Windows and Chrome is my default browser. SITUATION: When I open the browser, McAffee finds many virus to popup/warn about. Over and over.

However, I don't use McAffee and I search for this DLL (or any with McAffee in the text) and find nothing.

Any suggestions about how to proceed?

The redirects to phoney support sites can also be caused by malformed ads on the site being displayed. What are you using as your home page? The ad service on that site may have some bad ads.  Installing an ad blocker extension in your browser can help prevent these redirects.

FYI :  Norton's Power Eraser is an aggressive tool that can be prone to false positives. Be careful if it suggests removing items that you do not understand. If you allow it to remove the wrong thing, it can actually leave your system unbootable. If there are detection you do not know about, post back here for some advise.

You probably have an unwanted browser addon or redirect that is taking you to some phony web page.

Run Norton Power Eraser for unwanted programs and also download and run Malwarebytes free and it might find something in your browser to delete.

You can also use the Chrome settings/privacy and security and have it check for something unwanted.
