The latest versions of Norton Utilities Ultimate do not contain a traditional “one-click RAM cleaning” button because modern operating systems handle memory allocation automatically, rendering dedicated RAM flushers obsolete. Instead, Norton releases stuck memory and optimizes performance using its Sleep Mode feature, which shuts down resource-heavy apps running silently in the background.

If your PC is lagging and you want to reclaim your memory using the new Norton interface, you can achieve this through the following steps.

Use Sleep Mode to Free Up RAM
The most effective way to clear memory through Norton Utilities Ultimate is by putting background programs to sleep.

1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate (or the Norton Cleaner app on mobile).
2. Select Home or navigate to the main dashboard, then click Sleep Mode.
3. Look through the list of active apps and check the boxes next to the ones hogging resources.
4. Click Force Stop (or Hibernate) to instantly terminate their background activity and free up physical RAM.

Disable Unnecessary Startup Apps
Many apps launch automatically when you boot your PC, permanently eating up your RAM space.

1. Go to the Dashboard and look for your Startup Manager or Process Manager.
2. Identify high-impact programs that you do not need open immediately.
3. Toggle them Off to prevent them from consuming memory on startup. windows?

Clear Your RAM Manually (Without Software)
If your system is locked up and you need an immediate flush without digging through Norton, you can use the built-in Windows tools.

• Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, click the Memory column to see what is using the most RAM, right-click the unwanted program, and select End Task.
• Quick Restart: The fastest way to fully flush your cached memory and start fresh is to simply Restart your computer.

Norton Utilities Ultimate features a Sleep Mode to prevent background apps from draining memory and CPU power. Depending on your operating system, the feature works either as a system-wide Android app hibernation tool or as a “Processes” management tool that puts heavy PC apps into a deep sleep until you open them.

Managing Sleep Mode on Windows
On Windows PCs, this functionality is found under the Processes tab. It detects startup programs and background tasks that impact system performance and allows you to “sleep” them.

• How to use it: Open the app, go to Manage Programs, click the Processes tab, and select Rescan.

• Action: Toggle the switch to Off for processes that have a High or Medium system impact.

• How it works: Sleeping apps cannot run in the background, but they will still open and function normally when you launch them yourself. Once you close the app, Norton automatically returns it to “Sleep” status.

Managing Sleep Mode on Mobile
On Android devices, the dedicated Sleep Mode feature shuts down apps running automatically in the background to stop data usage and performance lags. You can choose to hibernate applications you still need but do not use on a daily basis to maximize both speed and battery life.
