Clicking on "Vault is closed" in Windows 7 crashes Norton Security

Norton Identity Safe works perfectly in my Windows XP desktop with Google Chrome, no trouble with signing in or opening vault, fills in passwords as it should, etc.

The same version of Norton Security/Norton Identity Safe does not work in my  Asus EeePC netbook with Windows 7/Google Chrome.

The Norton Toolbar appears normally/correctly, however when I click on "Vault is closed" , Norton Security stops working and a window comes up with the message  "Norton Security has stopped working and Windows is searching for a solution to the problem".  The same thing happens if I go to "Settings" and attempt to configure the Identity Safe.

This occurs whether or not I am signed in to Norton from either my Desktop or my Netbook.

Apparently, something in the Netbook is preventing the Identity Safe/Vault process from starting.
