Hi,
I have just upgraded to Win 7 64 bit and is running the 64 bit version of NIS 2010. However, there is no client integration for antispam setup.
According to the help documentation, it should be placed under settings for network, but there is no such thing ??

Yes, I am aware of that, but there is no Client Integration in the paragraph Antispam.
You're right. I just moved from an XP system to a Win7 x64 system and I don't see it there (should be the fourth line under AntiSpam).
What e-mail client are you using? Integration is only supported in Outlook and Outlook Express.

Okay, that should work. I'm unsure why it isn't, but someone will jump in shortly with the answer.

I'm using Live Mail
I'm not showing that fourth line either, with Win 7 32 bit.
I didn't believe Win 7 supported Outlook Express , hence reason I'm using Live.
I haven't used Outlook, so can't comment on that, got a feeling there may be something similar here since the full version came out.
Microsoft I think would like everonre to use Live Mail.
If I'm wrong, someone will point this out.

Hi boneidle,
If you look in NIS 2010 help under "Configuring Client Integration" you'll see that it says:
Norton Internet Security supports Norton AntiSpam integration with the following email programs:
Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003/2007
Outlook Express 6.0 or later
Windows Mail in Windows Vista
You're correct that Win7 does not include Outlook Express. I didn't mean to imply that. As a practical matter, Win7 options are reduced to Outlook. However, pscon has Outlook 2007, so it seems integration should be working. I have Outlook installed elsewhere, but not on my Win7 system, so I can't check.

Ok, it seems general that 'Client Integration' is not an Option with Win 7 , 32 or 64 bit.
Let's hope someone from Norton can tell us why.
If it's not going to be an option, I suggest they take it out of the 'Help' pages.
If it is going to be an option, perhaps they will include other email programs, as Outlook Express, at least, seem outdated

OK, let’s see until Norton comes with an explanation to this.
Hi,
On Win 7 Client integration link will appear only if you have Outlook installed.
Win 7 doesn't support Outlook Express and We support client Integration for Windows Mail only on Vista.
If you are on Windows 7 and If Outlook is installed, you should definitely see the Client Integration option.
Can you tell us whats version of Outlook you use.
Go to Help menu in your Outlook and click on "About Microsoft office Outlook". You will get a dialog.
Requesting you to copy / paste that dialog here.

Hi,
I have Outlook 2007 (Outlook Express is not a part of W7). I run the Danish version og NIS 2010, so you probably can't read the text above, but under AntiSpam there is no line with Client Integration (Klient Integration in Danish).
Hi pcscon,
Can you attach a screenshot of the Help/About section in Outlook showing the full version? Thanks!

It seems that it is actually Outlook 2010 beta on this machine, so I think that is the reason. Sorry for that.

Just for information.
I have now installed Outlook 2007 version (12.0.4518.1014) MSO (12.0.6425.1000) on Windows 7 32bit.
The Client Integration option is now available.
Thanks.
Will Norton be supporting this option for 'Live Mail' on Win 7 in the future ?

Hi pcscon
Yes.that's the reason why Client Integration option is missing from your Antispam settings.
Designed in such a way that, Client Integration will be shown only when one of the supported Email client is installed in your PC
We do support most of the Outlook versions as listed in the Help document. Outlook 2010 is not yet an officially released product.
Thanks

Hi again,
Thanks for your reply. It is just a bit strange because I have another PC that runs XP / Office 2010 / NIS 2010. The antispam is working fine at that configuration.
The addin for Norton antispam is present and the filter works fine in Outlook 2010 on XP but not on W7/x64.

Hi pcscon
Its surprising/happy to hear from you on Antispam working perfectly with Outlook 2010 on XP :)
Once Outlook 2010 is officially released it will considered for Complete Antispam integration/functioning on XP/Vista/Win 7 32/64bit
