Client Turned off Warning messages

Hi,

I have read many of the messages on the subject of receiving 'Client Turned Off' email messages in error from onlineFamily.norton, but not published solutions.

Can someone please share with me what the is the cause and any solution to stop me getting these messages in error.

I have three laptops for my three children and two of them are now sending emails indicating that the Safety Minder client is turned off, however when I check the PCs this is not the case - safety minder is active and I am getting reports of activity on line.

I have three identical laptops all running Norton 360 v3 plus safety minder. The laptops are running 64bit Vista Home Premium with IE8 and on a Cisco routed wireless network with broadband cable internet connection.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,

Adrian.

Katie,

The PCs are secure and I have tested the PCs myself - the norton safety minder is running correctly on the client apparently but it I still receive the emails. I did turn the minder off once to test something and ever since I have been getting the daily emails even though the system has been reset and rebooted.

Are there any other issues know causes of theis fault or a solution?

Regards,

Adrian.

AdrianM,

A couple of other users have experienced a similar issue.  They both use wireless network and lose the wireless network connectivity occasionally.  Do you lose the wireless network connectivity occasionally too?

Thanks,

Katie

Katie,

That is possible, although I have not noticed it, as the laptop is mainly used on the wireless network

Adrian.

I have a similar issue here now for some time. I get messages saying, for example:

"The Safety Minder tool on Theo's Laptop used by Theo, has been disabled...."

When I check, the NSM is on and working fine as far as I can tell.

This is in fact a laptop on a wireless network, but that should not be the issue. If its is the message should be telling me "...The laptop used by xxx has lost its connection to the wireless network..." NOT that NSM has been turned off or disabled. And further, if the message is from loss of connectivity, we should be able to suppress that message for sure as laptops are goiing to lose wireless signal from time to time, nature of the beast with 802.11 in houses.
