Cloud Backup - Does It Change the Windows File Archive Bit?

Before I activate Norton Cloud Backup (NCB), I need to know whether NCB modifies the Windows file archive bit (FAB) after it uploads a file. In other words, does it clear the FAB to indicate the file has been uploaded? The reason I ask is that I have other software that DOES clear the FAB. (I manage a Web site and do daily uploads which clears the FAB of uploaded files). If NCB *also* modifies the FAB, the two programs will interfere with each other, and I cannot use NCB. To put the question another way, how does NCB know that a file has changed and needs to be uploaded? Does it examine the FAB? Or does it examine the file's date/time modified? Or does it use some other technique? If it's unclear what I mean by the FAB, I mean the archive bit described at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archive_bit . This is a critical question, and I cannot consider activating NCB until I get an answer. I use Windows 10, 64bit (latest build), using NortonLifeLock/Norton 360 (I'm unclear which is the product name; can't tell what version I have.)

@aksarben I am not 100% certain but i believe we use EFA (extended file attributes) to mark files as having been uploaded, I am not certain if it would collide with FAB. You could do a very simple test though. Just create a NCB file set that includes only a few files and include nothing else, run your test with your other software and with NCB, without knowing what the other software does its difficult to give a definitive answer

Hello. I will ask a moderator to move this to the Norton 360 board where it will get the appropriate response. This board is for the Norton Core router.
