I'm new to this forum because I've never had problems with NIV before...I see lots of threads re: problems with 2013, but I don't know what my problems may be or how to resolve...Norton support is no help:
1) I have both a desktop and laptop...renewed the subscription on both about 3 weeks ago, presumably to 2013 ( files are tagged 20.x)
2) I was logged into 2012 when I renewed. Everything renewed as before with local logins retained.
3) My laptop later experienced a bluescreen. When I recovered and went to my browser, the Norton toolbar was no longer there and Norton would not respond from the start programs.
4) I logged onto the Norton site and reloaded NIV (but was not logged into 2012 at the time since NIV became inoperable), but this time it required me to set up a cloud vault (which, by the way I hate and do not want). I had to set up an entirely different login from what I had previously used. It proceeded to dump all of my local logins.
5) I laboriously rebuilt all of my logins and was prepared to deal with a different vault login on both machines.
6) Today my browser works fine until I try to log into the vault. When I do Windows Explorer locks up (BTW, I'm using Windows 8...both computers are Sony Vaios)...no logins.
What the hell is going on! Does one really have to be an IT prosessional to use Norton's products or to get them to work properly?!
Moved to own thread for better exposure.
