When I scanned my computer for rootkits with the help of Sophos Anti-Rootkit, I found these two hidden files:
C:\ProgramData\Norton\00000082\00000109\000003c4\cltLMS1.dat
C:\ProgramData\Norton\00000082\00000109\000003c4\cltLMS2.dat
Are these part of every Norton Internet Security? I have a pre-installed Norton Internet Security 2010 (I believe it's 2010 or 2009 even though it doesn't seem to state this anywhere) on my laptop.
I couldn't analyze those files or do almost anything with them because "access is denied".
However, I found out their size by right-clicking them and selecting "properties" :
cltLMS1.dat = size 8,33 KB (8 532 bytes) & size on disk 12,0 KB (12 288 bytes)
cltLMS2.dat = size 8,33 KB (8 532 bytes) & size on disk 12,0 KB (12 288 bytes)
So, as far as their size is concerned, they are identical according to my Windows 7 Home Premium.
