Clueless, making things worse; Error 5013,3

I am basically computer illiterate, so please be patient with me...

I was receiving the 5013,3 Error Message and I followed the instructions listed on the support page (https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v67301753_EndUserProfile_en_us), but found I did not have the Base Filtering Engine

I did some research and found instructions for a fix on this forum (see below).  I eagerly began follwing the instructions, and everything seemed to be going great until I got to #12 when I realized I had misread #1!!!!  The instructions said "Run Norton Removal Tool" and my brain somehow was stuck on "Run Norton Power Eraser."

SO, in reality I have done steps 2-10. I have NOT restarted, and I have NOT removed Norton 360 from my computer. I'm terrified that I have doomed myself to the blue screen that SUBASH_PRABU warned about... what do I do now?

Thanks in advance to anyone who is willing and able to help!
