Hello!
I have bought Norton Internet Security and installed it on my completely fresh Vista Home Premium 64-bit system. It seems to be working fine, but there is one problem:
During installation, error messages that Code integrity is unable to verify the image integrity of \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Program Files\Symantec\TEMP.^^^\SYMEVENT64x86.SYS appears in the Security event log. It still installs fine, and seems to be working fine, too, as I said, but then, whenever trustedinstaller.exe runs, Code integrity errors in the event log appears again. Then it's \Device\HarddiskVolume1\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\NIS_17.0.0.136\Definitions\BASHDefs\20090829.001\BHDrvx86.sys giving the error, along with BHDrvx64.sys
This happens every time I install it and afterwards (tried 3 or 4 times, using both the version downloaded using the Norton downloader and the trialware version from download.com).
It is only the Norton files giving me the code integrity errors, and as I said, it's a fresh Vista installation with only the video card drivers, sound card drivers, network card, and chipset drivers installed before (all latest signed versions from the official vendors, of course). No other security software, and Windows Defender disabled completely. All administrator privileges granted and UAC turned off.
Can anyone else check if those errors appear during installation, perhaps? I'm pretty sure it's the Norton files, not my computer, behind it. Perhaps it doesn't matter, even? Seems to be working, as I said, no errors reported within the NIS 2010 history log itself while these errors pop up in the event log.
Thanks!
