I have been using the NIS for few years now. The product itself WAS useful, functional and I WAS happy to recommend it to others. Till lately, when the sh.t started.
First, I wasnt able to use RDC to my servers, their "smart firewall" was blocking it. Then, same crap started to block NAS Navigator from communication between PC and NAS device. Yes, before someone out there starts "smart..ssing" I checked the "program rules" and they were set to allow. Moment I killed "smart firewall" my RDC and NAS communication was working. "Smart firewall" goes on, its all dead.. So, what I did was tried to get someone on chat support since I have the active sub. Spent last 7 days, each day about an hour, and it was THIS morning till I finally managed to reach someone on chat. The guy saw I have german interface, so instead of giving me short "to-do" about my issue, like I requested, he sends me off to call german support. It is Sunday today, so I will have to wait till tomorrow and based on my experience with germans till now, I believe all I will get tomorrow will be "no habla englez" (nobody speaks english) crap. All in all, sh.t is going down big time and its coming to the point of walking out of beeing user here anymore.
P.S. I was sooo "convinced" with Symantec that I was even considering the Endpoint for my servers, but after latest what happend, am not sure I will keep on using even NIS anymore..
P.P.S. Why am I writing this? Well, I am aware that nobody from Symantec gives a flying duck about me. I just wrote so this is probably "just to let the steam out".
