I need to know how to completely removed Norton Internet Security 2010 and antivirus. My computer updated the Norton and ran a full system scan the other day, now my X-box 360 will not connect to the computer. I've tried a hundred "fixes" that I've found on the net to no avail. My thought is if I completely uninstall Norton and the 360 works, then I know Norton is the culprit (it has to be anyway, nothing else has changed). Anyway, I've gone through the control panel and uninstalled it, but I'm still finding "traces" of it in Windows Firewall, and Windows Virus Protection. They are turned "off" but keep telling me my computer is still protected by Norton. If my endevour is successful, I plan to re-install Norton and hope it works as a "new install". If not, not sure what I'm going to do. I've never had this problem with Norton before, and it really irritates me.
I'm running an older AMD with XP home, SP2 and Media Player 11 (with all the updates as far as I can tell).
Download the tool, and run it multiple times(2-3 times, restarting the computer each time after you run). This is to completely remove all the components of NIS 2010.

You should not have both NIS 2010 and any other antivirus installed at the same time. There are some fixes for 360 box and if you scan these forums you will find users who have posted and resolved their issue. You can 99% remove NIS 2010 using NRT as advised to you by another poster.
I didn't have 2 anti-virus programs running, it was just the way I phrased it.
Anyway, after unistalling Norton, making sure the windows firewall was turned off, and whatever windows calls "anti-virus protection" under the security panel was off, I was horrified when nothng had changed. Still no connection with the X-Box. So I reinstalled Norton and proceeded to continue my search for the solution. A few hours later a 16 year old friend of my son's came by and was upset about the situation (they couldn't listen to music while playing the X-Box, lol), so he decided to explore the problem. 15 minutes later, the problem is solved. He said somethng about DRMs needing to be reset. I don't have a clue what he meant, or how they got changed, but he used the following thread, and now everything works PERFECTLY. Who knew ???
