Long story short:
A friend bought a new laptop in January and hasn't used her desktop since. She now wants to start using it again, but prefers a competitors internet security package she has on the laptop. The desktop has an obviously long since expired copy of Norton Internet Security 2014 that needs to be removed. I'm a little confused on the process to completely remove it from her desktop, as I have read three different processes.
1) Just use Windows Add/Remove software to remove it
2) I need to use only the Norton remove/reinstall tool
3) Use the Windows Add/Remove software tool then run the Norton removal tool.
Is there one generally accepted way of removing it correctly?
Also, can I download the Norton tool on a USB from my computer and install it on hers or does it have to be downloaded directly onto her computer?
She's running Windows Vista SP 2 if that makes a difference.
