Thanks SendofJive

I'll stop posting for now. I have so many screenshots I could take that it gets kinda silly. I'll hold off posting more until I get some feedback.

Again, I think I know why these attacks started in the real world but before I take legal action I would like to secure my computer

The last two screenshots aren't worrisome.  The former recorded the progress of the initialization process, usually during boot-up and/or subsequent to attempted internet access.  The latter recorded the status reports of the various components of the security after initialization is complete.

The remaining screenshots are frightening(!), as if you're besieged.

May 19 was certainly a boom day for malware on this machine.  Do you recall what may have happened at that time?  I would assume that Norton popped up advisories.  If you click on each entry, for that date, and click more details, is there a path given, such as email?

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think the last 2 screenshots were worrisome but wasn't 100% sure so thank you for setting my mind at ease regarding that issue. As for the rest, of the higher alerts that is but a sample of what I have been dealing with.

May 19 was a big attack day but the attacks started earlier in the year corresponding with a dispute in the real world

I don't see a path such as as email that you referenced. Anything else I can look up to help?

Hi intass123:

If you choose one of the malware entries, you will be able to find more information when you click the "more details" button on the right.  There is very little information to be had from firewall entries.  Intrusion prevention entries can also provide more details such as "Attack from DEVICEHARDDISCVOLUME1\............Firefox"  which isn't much of an issue.  It means that something on a webpage has been blocked in the browser.  If the advisory says that it is from .........svchost, or some other system file, it may indicate something calling out being blocked rather than something trying to get in.

Norton reports both ingoing and outgoing intrusions.
