Hi. I've been using Norton for two years now (we recently upgraded from NIN to 360) and I've been tremendously satisfied with it's performance--up until now.
I don't have Automatic Updates enabled for Windows. (I let Norton do what it wants, just not Microsoft). Recently, I got all the computers in the house up-to-date, including my laptop which is my main PC. Now, when the little flag pops up telling me Norton is performing task in the background (which never interfered with anything before), my computer freezes. I can't launch or close programs, or even navigate whatever I have open at the time (which is usually IE and/or RealPlayer) I can't even open the Task Manager. Eventually it gets to the point where I CAN'T DO ANYTHING, and I have to do a hard reboot.
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 32-bit. I have 4GB of RAM with a Dual-Core Processor. Both Windows and Norton are maxed on updates. This. Should not be happening. Please help.
(NOTE: This only started happening recently, when I did used Windows Update to get my computer up to speed. -I'm going to upgrade to Windows 7. I don't want to take this problem with me. -Thx.)
