Hello,
I recently purchased and Xbox and am trying to set it up to stream media from my home computers. I have two computers, both running NIS 2010. One is a desktop running Windows XP. The other is a laptop running Windows 7. The desktop connects to my Actiontec PK5000 DSL modem/router via ethernet. The laptop connects wirelessly to the modem. The Xbox connects to the modem/router via ethernet. I am able to connect to Xbox live so I know I am getting through to the internet, but am not able to share media on the intranet. I have both computer trust settings set to "Full Trust" for the Xbox and still have no communication. I had a support chat session with Symantec and they disabled NIS and still no luck, they tell me it's an Xbox problem. I called Xbox, and they tell me that they believe it's a Firewall issue as when they checked certain ports they were closed. My modem/router comes with firewall settings but they are turned off (default setting). I'm trying to figure out how to configure the firewall but must admit that I'm starting to get into things that I really am not sure how to handle.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Nate
