The “Norton Antivirus” process is consuming a lot of CPU – about 50%.
The computer is very sluggish after the latest install (26.5.10994.2525).
My web browsers hardly run at all – in particular Norton seems to be blocking YouTube – I can’t run videos anymore.
Sometimes the computer locks up and I must force-reboot.
What settings do I need to a adjust so I can use my computer again, or is Norton 26.5 just horribly broken?
You can try turning off DeepFake Protection by clicking Scam Protection from the main 360 interface and turning off the DeepFake Protection.
I just uninstalled Norton 360. Version 26.5 is not usable at all. I’ll wait for an update and try your suggestion if I decide to re-install.
Acronis True Image now has anti-virus protection support so I enabled that. This (horrible) experience with Norton will give me a chance to evaluate the security features of ATI.
