Hey there, in the last weeks I always wondered why in my C drive are there files, that I didn’t expected there and I know no program on my machine, that was creating these files. Few days ago, I did - like every week - a full scan with NIS 2011. After I had completed it (it always run over the night), I clicked accidentally on the C drive. And there it was: a new of these curious files, I could see by the time stamp, that it had be created right after finishing the scan - there was no other program active, only the Windows Explorer. These files are just “data” files, with no file extension, pure white icons. They’ve got always numeric codes as file name, for example: {D941393A-7ACE-4887-BC67-248236DEA337} {3983A218-3EE2-441D-ADB4-2140EDA48D82} {FE2BC9E3-621E-43D6-BF8F-066B07E6EAF8} and are 1 to 3 KB big in size. What leads me to Norton even more, was that I remembered these codes, with the curly bracket, because I had years ago a problem with my virus definitions by Norton - and the virus definitions I think, are using such codes. Has anyone a clue, why they are created? The first one is from 13th october 2010, the second from 26th and the thirth from 30th october 2010. Thank you for your help!
