Hi
Hope someone can help with this problem. Installed 'Security Deluxe' successfully on my laptop and phone but am having trouble with my tablet (Nexus 7). Appeared to download ok but when I clicked 'accept and launch'(I think) I get the message 'Your connection is not secure - cannot verify the server certificate........' and when I then click ok I get ' Cert. cannot be verified on your device. Please make sure your device time is correct'. I guess the device time is some internal thing but have no idea how to check it. As I said the laptop and phone downloaded ok (on the same server) so I'm stuck as to what to do.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Good to know - thanks again
We are always here if you need us again.
I changed the 'solution' to the post that mentions the Android System web view update as that was the thing that seemed to be causing the problem. Thanks again for your help.
Glad to hear you found the solution. Thanks for letting us know.
You might consider changing the post you marked as the solution to your initial issue, 'Connection not secure'. That way the search function of the forum will have more accurate results.
Just about every device updates automatically or should at least inform you of an update. Unless you turned that feature off.
After the day I've had I'll make sure of that!
Keeping any and all your devices up to date is critical.
Many, many thanks. Just a simple thing that solves everything but, obviously, only if you know what you're doing.
Righto - I admit I was taking the title quite literally but, hold the front page....................I think 'we've' solved the problem! I followed the instructions re updating the Android System web view and now, when I've gone into Norton Security and Antivirus it seems to be 'doing something' - no connection messages just lots of activity.
Excellent news - couldn't have done it without everyone's help - much appreciated.
Here is a listing of all the Norton apps in the Google Play store. I was off on the app title. Sorry.

Yeah you're right. It is kind of misleading (understatement of the year, so far!)
I have though gone into Google play store and cannot find anything titled Norton Mobile Security only Norton Security and Antivirus (which is the 'thing' that doesn't work and sends the connection problem message). When I open Norton Mobile Security through Google browser it wants my credit card details prior to download so that's a none starter.
The publicity blurb for Security Deluxe does state that it's ok for android tablets but doesn't tell you how to do it!! I previously had Norton 360 (I think) and had no problem with it on my laptop, phone or tablet.
I'm going to try the stuff that's on the thread that was posted by Peter and hopefully I may get to put my feet up with a glass of wine before midnight!! Here's hoping it all goes well - thanks again for your patience and help.
Thanks peter. But she still needs to know that Norton Security mobile and Norton Security for a pc are entirely different programs. Norton needs to clarify this on the main page. Just like there is no such thing as Norton Security Deluxe for iOS. There is no antivirus on the market for iOS.
Another confused customer.

This connection not secure issue was answered here.
The issue is with the Android WebView app. Norton is aware and is working on a fix.
No no no. It is kind of misleading on Norton's part. If you purchase Norton Security Deluxe you get everything you listed. Your subscription will cover the cost of Norton Mobile Security. Most people know that have one of these devices knows that you can only add apps via the app store. if you search for Norton Security in the Google app store there is none. But there is Norton Mobile Security. That is what I meant by a different program. You need to read the fine print.

I'm sorry, but I'm more confused now than before. I was 'content' to write the thing off but now you're saying that I can use my Norton subscription but under a separate programme (I take it you're in the US?). I think I'll go back to the computer store where I bought the Norton (recently) and Nexus (last year) and see what they can do!!!
Thanks again for taking the time to help me out.
Your Norton subscription does cover all those. But it involves a separate program. Android devices can only install apps from the Google play store. iOS devices can only install apps from the Apple App store. Your connection not secure was warning you that you were trying to install something outside the app store.
Well so simple - once you know!!!! I bought Security Deluxe because it said 'P.Cs, Macs, smartphones and tablets' but I'll know better next time.
Thanks very much for your help - I was beginning to tear my hair out!!
You cannot install Norton Security deluxe on a Nexus Tablet. It is not supported. You can however install Norton Mobile Security from the app store.
