When attempting to do the Contact Backup from Norton Mobile Security, I get a message saying "Server Error" and that they are "working to resolve an issue that prevents us from completing your request. Try again later." Any idea when this might be corrected?
I am running version 3.15.0.3131
No, I had not been using it for more than 30 days. Just ignoring it. I tend to do that with things that P _ _ _ me off.
Sorry I forgot about that work around. Glad to hear you got things worked out.
Had you been using NMS for more than the 30 day trial? Just asking because the Sign In option usually works after NMS is first installed. It may not work if you exceed the 30 days.
Yes, I did sign in. I contacted help and they said I had to click on the purchase offer, but that it would not actually charge me for the upgrade. Once I did that, I could download the update and then my subscription date appeared. It is fine now, but that does seem a rather roundabout way to do things.
On the phone that does not show the 300 days, did you sign into your Norton account as I described in my last post? That should activate the full version for you.
I did not install the new version. Not sure how this happened. We have another smartphone with Norton Mobile and it still has the subscription info on it. My phone, well, it wants me to pay for the subscription. Not going to do that as I already have a subscription for another 300 plus days. Guess I will have to contact support.
When you installed, or reinstalled NMS did you sign into your Norton Account from the app? That will activate the full version. Tap on the 3 bars at the top left of the NMS screen and tap on Sign In.
And yes, this could explain why you cannot back up your contacts.
I notice that my Norton Mobile Security that I installed under a subscription (still valid for over 300 days) got replaced by a "free version" of Norton Mobile Security which at some point will probably try to require me to purchase a subscription. Perhaps this is why my backup no longer works. Not sure I understand why a subscription version would get replaced by a "free" version.
I would retry every hour or so. If it is regular server maintenance, they try to keep it to a minimum.
