My new laptop comes with a free 30-day trial of NIS 2010. I have been using NIS 2009 on my desktop machine, and have read good reviews of NIS 2010, so I will probably want to keep using NIS 2010 on the new machine.
The spec sheet for my new computer says, "After your 30 days are finished, buy Norton Internet Security to continue to be protected...." If I want to convert the free trial of NIS 2010 (which I suppose may be an OEM version) to a paid version with a 1-year subscription, do I just need to do a subscription renewal from within the trial, or do I actually have to purchase the program, whether boxed or downloaded, as the info on my new computer suggests? If I need to purchase the program (or if I just *want* to purchase it, for example so that I actually have the CD or the downloaded file in case I need to re-install it), do I need to remove the trial version before installing the paid version, or can I just install the paid one over the trial (keeping in mind that they are both NIS 2010).
Any help or recommendations regarding this issue would be most appreciated.
