The context here. I have Windows 7 Home Premium x86 Service Pack 1 on a 500TB drive about 100GB of it is used.
I want to change the drive to a 240GB SSD drive. Ghost 15.0.
I tried Copy My Disk to the USB mounted SSD drive. It took a long time and eventually said it could not complete the copy with error EC8F17B3: Cannot complete copying of (C:\) drive.
--Cannot copy source drive to destination location.
---Bad file record signature.
---Cannot copy source drive to destination location
----Bad file record signature
(UMI:V-0-3215-6067)
It didn't tell me which file had the problem.
I tried shrinking the partition to a size small enough to allow a copy. Ghost would not let me shrink the partition small enough so I cancelled that.
I subsequently just installed the same Windows 7 directly on the SSD and that's where it's at right now. I don't want to do it this way as I have to reinstall and configure everything. I want to back up the original ~100GB and restore it onto the SSD completely.
What do I need to do?
